Open Water Diver

Get ready to explore a whole new world beneath the surface with Arizona Dive Center! The Scuba Schools International (SSI) Open Water Diver Course is your first step into scuba diving—and it’s designed to be both exciting and fun. You’ll learn the essential skills, safety practices, and confidence needed to dive anywhere in the world. With a mix of online learning, pool sessions, and real open water dives, this course is perfect for adventure seekers ready to discover the magic of the underwater world!

Our course includes:

• Digital training materials (training apps) from SSI
• Scuba Schools International (SSI) online profile on computer or app for mobile phone
• Classroom review session
• Snorkel training (in-pool session) - approx 2 hours
• Scuba training (in-pool sessions) - approx 6 hours
• Scuba Equipment Needed for both Pool and Open Water Certification Dives (BCD vest, Regulator, Computer w/compass, Cylinders, Weights)
• Instructor (s) and Assistant (s) when needed
• One weekend of Scuba equipment rental (BCD vest, Regulator, Computer w/compass, Cylinders, Weights and when needed Wetsuit/Hood)
• Digital Certification Card

Course does not include:

• Personal snorkeling equipment (For hygiene reasons and to ensure proper fit, students are required to provide their own personal snorkeling equipment (mask, fins, snorkel, boots, gloves, and SMB (Surface Marker Buoy), anti-fog and bag.  If you need help selecting the right equipment, our staff is happy to assist as well as provide student discounts in our Dive Center!
• Transportation to/from pool location (several pool locations off-site)
• Transportation to/from Lake Pleasant for two days (4 Open Water Certification Dives)
• Additional class or pool time (if needed)
• Additional time for Open Water Certifications (if needed)

Please understand:

• Class purchases, including courses and digital training materials (apps), are non-refundable. Digital materials are considered like software—once issued, they cannot be returned.
• All courses require completion of Liability Forms, Minor Consent Forms (if applicable), and a Medical History Form (which may require a physician’s sign-off). These forms are available to review before purchase—please ask our team for details.
• Make-up or additional pool/class sessions are available for an additional fee if needed. One weekend of rental equipment is included for your Certification Dives. If additional dates are required, extra rental fees may apply.
• Certification must be completed within 6 months of the course start date.
