How the Training Works

• Digital Learning & Academics: SSI has mastered the use of digital technology to make your leadership learning experience easy. You can start by studying the master-level academics anytime, anywhere at your own convenience, and your designated Training Center or regional seminar coordinator will schedule your intense academic reviews and in-water evaluations.
• Advanced In-Water Training: During your pool/confined water and open water training sessions, your evaluators will test your skills, rescue management, and evaluation criteria in real-world environments under expert supervision until you are fully ready to guide the next generation of dive professionals.
• Certification: Once you have successfully completed all required academic reviews, pool modules, open water evaluations, and the comprehensive final seminar metrics, your SSI digital certification card will populate instantly on your MySSI App, confirming your status as an active Instructor Trainer.

• Amount of Academic Sessions: 12
• Amount of Pool/Confined Water Sessions: 6
• Amount of Open Water Sessions: 2
• Maximum Training Depth: 40 meters / 130 feet
• Suggested Duration: 70 to 80 hours
• Certification Prerequisites: Active SSI Master Instructor (or agency equivalent), and must have logged assistance in at least 1 complete Instructor Training Course (ITC) and 1 Professional Crossover program.
