Dive Knives & Shears

A dive knife or line cutter is a safety tool, not a weapon. Its main job is freeing you or your buddy from fishing line, rope or kelp. Many divers carry a compact cutter on their BCD and a second tool as backup.

Titanium blades resist corrosion and need almost no maintenance, while 304 stainless steel holds a sharper edge at a lower price. Smaller knives mounted on a BCD hose or chest strap are easier to reach than leg-mounted models.
